In our tests, we observed that the S8 Pro Ultra was able to pick up most of the surface litter and embedded dust on floors with a medium-pile or bare. The S8 Pro Ultra's cleaning power is a bit short of our top choice Roomba's iRobot Roomba j7+. However, it's nonetheless a capable and versatile machine that is worth considering.
The app allows you to create a 3D home map, designate no-go zones and schedule specific cleaning times. The app also provides an ongoing log of cleaning times and coverage areas and lets you see the performance of each room and areas. You can assign a specific cleaning mode for each area. If you have an Echo device or another smart speaker, you can use it to add voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant.

The Roomba j7+ from iRobot is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a self-emptying robot vacuum that also mop. In addition to allowing you to control the robot by remote or smartphone as well, the iRobot Genius app makes it easy to set up the j7+, establish the schedule, and tweak other settings. It even guides new users through the onboarding process to aid the robot in understanding their home and plan its space for cleaning.
The j7+ uses a larger dust bin than many of the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tried. This allows it to hold more debris, but you'll need to empty it every seven to eight months (or more frequently if have a lot of pet hair or other large debris). iRobot provides replacement bags and filters.
Another feature that is worth mentioning is the front camera of the j7+ it claims to help the robot recognize dangers like pet waste and power cords and avoid them. The camera isn't as good in low light therefore you might think about a rival with a better camera, like the Roborock S7 MaxV.
I was also pleased to see that when docked, the iRobot J7+ automatically empty its dust bin and put it into Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal. The T10 OMNI performs a fantastic job of cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able to remove the majority of pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to navigate through furniture that was blocking its path.
The T10 Omni is a fantastic alternative for anyone looking for an automatic mop and vacuum that can empty itself. Its mops are just as powerful as its vacuums, and it sports a an appealing design than the Roomba. While it does not have an remote control, the T10's smart capabilities make up for this omission. With the application, you can easily start and stop a cleaning cycle. You can also schedule it and alter the settings of your device.
4. Shark ION the XL
The ION XL, Shark's most advanced self-emptying robotic vacuum is an ideal choice for those who want to clean their homes without having to lift a finger. It also has exceptional performance. The robot vacuum comes with a big bin that can store a month's worth of dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the conclusion of every cleaning session for long-term storage. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most versatile available. It can clean carpets and hard floors. You can control the robot via an app or voice commands, and you can even create an outline of your home and clean each room on demand. The robot is also able to maneuver around furniture and can navigate stairs and carpeted rooms with ease.
I tested the ION XL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood flooring, area rugs and a standard test for debris. It did an excellent job vacuuming and clearing debris, pet hair, and even some of the more stubborn carpet crumbs. It was also good at maneuvering and didn't get in the way of my bar stools as did the iRobot J7+ in this test. The only issue is that the ION XL can't detect toys, cords and shoes in its path, so you will have prepare your home for cleaning prior to running this robot vacuum to stay clear of these items.
The ION XL isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+, but it's a good alternative if you don't wish to spend more than $500 on an automated cleaner. It is better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways and is more easy to maintain and requiring lower recurring costs. It also does a better job at vacuuming bare floors and removing pet hair, but it can't perform as well on lowor high-pile carpet.
It's not as sturdy, but it's still an excellent option. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it is controlled via an app and voice commands, and is simple to keep up with routine maintenance. It also has a reasonable price.
